Dr. Gamble-George has been invited to speak at a virtual “Minorities in S.T.E.M” career panel event that will be held on September 17, 2020, at 2:30 PM ET. She will speak about her S.T.E.M. journey to become a neuroscientist and give advice to students on how to pursue, succeed in, and thrive in a STEM profession. The event is sponsored and hosted by Communities in Schools of Jacksonville, a school dropout prevention organization in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Tay’s STEM Consulting Service, S.T.E.M.ING WHILE BLACK Initiative, a virtual series which provides guidance from a panel of Blacks in S.T.E.M. careers and academic programs, and the US Department of Education (USDOE) Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Potential (GEAR UP) Project in Jacksonville, Florida, which is a program aimed at empowering students to attain a high school diploma and achieve enrollment in a college or university through comprehensive academic and support services.
